Wyke Farms Launches New Design and Format as Re-sealable Packaging Arrives In-Store
Somerset, Spring 2009 - Wyke Farms, the UK’s largest independent cheese producer and milk processor, have unveiled a new line of re-designed, re-sealable packaging for the company’s range of award-winning farmhouse cheddar. The new packaging, which features a zip-lock seal and contemporary coloured labels with a picturesque landscape of the Somerset farm, was designed to improve the overall consumer experience, both visually and functionally, and will be in stores from February.
“At Wyke Farms our number one priority is serving consumers the best cheddar possible, and re-sealable packaging is a modern approach for preserving the delicate flavour and texture of an otherwise traditional mature and vintage cheddar,” said Richard Clothier, third generation family member & Managing Director, Wyke Farms said.
The Wyke Farms consumer focus groups identified that shoppers actively seek out brands in re-sealable formats. As a result, the new re-sealable packaging has been designed to preserve freshness and help consumers enjoy their cheddar longer. In terms of visual stimulation, the range of bold colours and horizon landscape portrait were chosen to help the packaging stand out on the shelf and increase the products’ overall in-store presence.
